One of the leading Energy Simulation programs in Europe is now gaining awareness and a growing user-base in North America.
With the Daikin VRV plug in for IES-VE you can take advantage of the enhanced energy simulation capabilities with the IES platform and combine in a fully validated modeling methodology for Daikin VRV systems including the innovative and energy saving “VRT” function. The results of the IES-VE simulations can be utilized for LEED, California Title 24 and other regulatory energy simulation requirements.

Overview of the Daikin VRV Plugin for Virtual Environment Software
The software offers an air conditioning load calculator and energy efficiency simulator specific to Daikin VRV systems, allowing architects and engineers to accurately predict an entire system’s efficiency from the outset of a project: demonstrating system efficiencies of up to 9.1.
This helps to ensure that HVAC calculations and energy efficiency ratings meet today’s tough energy efficiency legislation and Building Regulations, while reducing the risk of over-specification and helping to control project costs.
EnergyPro is a building energy analysis program that has been designed as a tool for energy modelers and consultants to document compliance with CEC (California Energy Code) Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1 and 189.1 standards, HERS rating systems, LEED credits and to apply for tax credits. EnergyPro is one of the only energy modeling program capable of modeling VRV/VRF systems and includes Daikin equipment in its equipment libraries. It is also the only USGBC approved energy simulation program for LEED projects using Daikin products. For information on purchasing EnergyPro, user’s guides and details of the calculation algorithms used by the program please contact EnergySoft at www.energysoft.com.

TRACE 700 software is a complete load, system, energy, and economic analysis program that compares the energy and economic impact of such building alternatives as architectural features, HVAC system, building utilization or scheduling and economic options. TRACE 700 complies with Appendix G for Performance Rating Method of ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 for LEED analysis, and was the first simulation software approved by the IRS for energy-savings certification (EPAct). TRACE is also tested in compliance with ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 140–2007. For more information on purchasing TRACE 700 please refer to the link below.

The VRV System Energy Calculation Tool supplies the user with a reasonable calculation of the total power consumption of the Daikin VRV air-conditioning system for a specific project. The program takes into consideration various design condition inputs including ASHRAE weather data for operating temperatures, selected load requirements, and operational hours, to provide a summary of total and part load characteristics of the VRV system (outdoor units and indoor units).
This tool is designed to demonstrate the annual energy savings that can benefit from applying the VRV system.
